Daily Quiz!

It's a smaller aperture, and it makes the picture present a deeper depth of field!

Extra Credit Assignment: Landscape Picture

Primary Color Palette

Shutter Speed

Shutter speed is the measurement of how long the shutter screen remains open. Depending on amount of the time of the shutter screen being open, this determines the duration of the light hitting the camera/media. For this project, I captured Kylie and Megan jumping off the wall to play on the technique of motion. With the alternation of the shutter speed, I was able to catch them mid-air.

Aperture

Aperture is the unit of measurement that measures the size of the opening of the lens that can be adjusted to control the amount of light reaching the camera/film. This picture clearly indicates that the technique of aperture is used. The model, Kylie, is in focus; while the building behind her is blurred. The background behind Kylie is not as bright as, Kylie, in focus.

ISO project

"ISO is the measure of sensitivity of the media (film) and digitally is a camera dependent feature." The ISO range ranges from 100 to 3200. For this project, ISO range is from 600 to 100. If you examine the pictures closely, you can notice a slight difference in the brightness/exposure of the picture. In addition, the higher the ISO, the blurrier the picture became. In the ISO 600, you can notice that the picture is a lot more grainy-er than the ISO 100.

PSD exercise!

PSD Excercise A
I was drawn to edit the picture of the fire because the combinations of the shadows and the fire was interesting. I decided to make it black and white because I thought it bring out the shadows and bring emphasis the fire. In addition, I blurred the background of the picture to bring the attention to the bonfire and bring a cozy feel to the picture. I also choose this picture because I enjoy camping and bonfires because it relaxes me and reminds me of camping in Yosemite while I was growing up.

PSD Excercise B
I decided to edit this picture because I really love flowers and anything that reminds me of spring and summer. I wanted to bring a retro feel to the picture. So, I added and mixed  deep violet, red, and yellow to the color scheme of the picture. I also wanted to bring emphasis to the center of flower, so, I blurred the background and parts of the flower. I then created another layer, and erased the appropriate areas to draw attention to the center of the flower.

PSD Excercise C
This picture includes a busy beach filled with people carrying out various activities. I really enjoy editing pictures with retro, faded look. So for this picture, I toned the saturation down and played with the tints. I wanted to achieve the look of how old pictures with color looks like when the colors fade.

Growth

This story represents the beauty of growth. It starts with nothing, then with the addition of the seed and care, it evolved into a bright, healthy flower. This thought can be applied to life and how you can start with nothing, then with persistence and hard work, you will end with your desired outcome!
